Whilst it's great we have plenty of diversity for the different flavours of the product management role, there are however some misconceptions of the product craft that have evolved over the years.
In this talk Sherif Mansour will share three popular misconceptions from his experiences in ten years of product management, seeing Atlassian grow from five to over 130 product managers and from researching dozens of product managers over the years. Hear Sherif debunk some myths around the day-to-day craft of product management, working with other teams and popular misconceptions around progressing your career path as a product manager.
Sherif has been in software development for over 15 years. He is currently a Distinguished Product Manager for Atlassian. During his career at Atlassian he was, among other things, responsible for Confluence, a popular content collaboration tool for teams. Most recently, he spends most of his days trying to solve problems across all of Atlassian’s cloud products.
Sherif also played a key role in developing new products at Atlassian such as Stride, Team Calendars, and Confluence Questions. Sherif thinks building simple products is hard and so is writing a simple, short bio.
