Announcing the amazing Yiying Lu as the 2022 Web Directions Summit Creative Director
After 3 years hiatus due to [all the things], Web Directions Summit returns Dec 1 and 2 2022, bigger and better than ever.
In the coming couple of weeks we’ll be announcing the program for the 6 (yes 6!) tracks of this year’s conference. We’ve been working hard with a number of invited expert curators to put together these together.
Our tracks in 2022 include the long running Front End Engineering, Product, and Design tracks. But we’re adding three new tracks as well
- React Ecosystem, focussed on all things React, and other front end frameworks
- Content Strategy and Design, for all you content folks out there
- Career Development, with sessions to help you develop your career, whatever you level and whatever your professional focus
In addition, our Code Leaders conference will take place the day before Summit–November 30.
But wait, there’s more! today we have some hugely exciting news!
Announcing our 2022 Creative Director–Yiying Lu
You’ve likely seen the boba tea emoji (a big favourite with my boba loving daughters), the dumpling emoji and the chopsticks emoji. If you’re a web user of a certain age, you’ll know of the “Fail Whale“, the mascot that appeared when, as was frequently the case in its early days, Twitter was “over capacity”.
What these all have in common is their creator, Yiying Lu, who we are incredibly excited to announce as the Creative Director for Web Directions Summit 2022.
We’ve known and been privileged to have considered Yiying a friend for many many years. We in fact hosted Yiying’s very first individual art show back in 2009 as part of our conference that year.
In 2022, Yiying will be our first ever official Creative Director. We’re working with Yiying to ensure that the event is not simply visually stunning, but deeply interactive and engaging as well.
