Common Questions

How is this different from individual remote tickets?

Individual tickets are designed for solo viewing on personal devices. To Go gives you a premium group stream optimized for big screens, plus separate captions, as well as individual participation access.

Can we really keep the recordings forever?

Yes. You get unlimited access to download or stream all session recordings. Forever means forever. Well, until the heat death of the universe or some other such event.

What if we need to change our team roster?

Swap team members anytime before the event. Just send us updated names and emails. You can also add people up to your package limit without any hassle.

What technical setup do we need?

For the best in room experience: at a minimum, one screen or projector, stable internet connection, and individual devices for each team member. Ideal setup: Two screens (one for content, one for captions). We'll provide a detailed setup guide and pre-event tests to make sure everything works smoothly.

What if we have technical issues during the event?

We'll provide a comprehensive setup guide with pre-event tests, and be on hand for live technical support during events to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Why not just have everyone watch individually from their desks?

Of course you can. Because the magic happens in the room. When your team watches together, you can pause for discussion, brainstorm implementation ideas, and ask "how would this work for us?" in real-time. That shared context and immediate collaboration is invaluable for actually implementing what you learn.

What if not everyone can attend the live event?

They still get their individual login and can access recordings immediately after each session ends. The live shared experience is ideal, but the content remains valuable however they consume it.

Is this only for teams in the same office?

To Go is specifically designed for co-located teams watching together in the same space. But people can attend remotely or together in the same location.

Portait of John Allsopp.

John Allsopp

John Allsopp has been working on the Web for nearly 30 years. He's been responsible for innovative developer tools such as Style Master and X-Ray, and his ideas formed the foundation for Typekit, now Adobe Fonts, and the entire concept of Responsive Web Design. He's spoken at numerous conferences around the World and delivered dozens of workshops in that time as well.

His writing includes several books, including Developing With Web Standards and countless articles and tutorials in print and online publications.

His "A Dao of Web Design" published in 2000 is cited by Ethan Marcotte as a key influence in the development of Responsive Web Design, who's acclaimed article in 2010 begins by quoting John in detail, and by Jeremy Keith as "a manifesto for anyone working on the Web".

John brings his deep knowledge of and passion for the web and all things digital to every aspect of Web Directions.

About Us

Co-founded and now run by John Allsopp, Web Directions has for nearly 2 decades years brought together leading developers, engineers, visual, IxD, UX and product designers, Art and Creative Directors, product managers indeed everyone involved in producing web and digital products to learn from one another, and the World's leading experts across this vast field.

We spend our lives thinking about what comes next, keeping up with trends in technology, practices and processes, and filtering the hype, to make sure you don't miss trends that matter, and don't waste time on hype that doesn't.

We promise attending one of our events will leave you significantly better versed in the challenges you face day to day, and in solutions for addressing them.
