Network Engineer
Role Summary
ResetData is seeking a low to mid-level Network Engineer to support day-to-day network operations and data centre activities, freeing senior engineers to focus on project and design work.
This is a hands-on operational role based in Sydney, with responsibility for supporting physical and logical network infrastructure. You will work closely with infrastructure and systems teams to maintain reliable, well-documented, and well-functioning network environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day network operations and maintenance tasks.
- Support hands-on data centre activities (equipment installs, cabling, troubleshooting).
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot network devices including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Manage IP addressing, routing, VLANs, and firewall rules.
- Use CLI tools across network and Linux systems for troubleshooting and administration.
- Work with internal teams, vendors, and customers to resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate and clear network documentation.
- Contribute to basic scripting and automation tasks.
Skills & Experience
- Solid understanding of IP networking fundamentals (IP addressing, routing, VLANs, firewalls).
- Experience working in data centre environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across networked systems.
- Comfortable using CLI for network devices and Linux systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (internal, vendors, customers).
- Basic scripting or programming ability.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to advanced networking concepts: BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, EVPN, VXLAN.
- Experience with FortiGate and/or Palo Alto firewalls.
- Network automation experience.
- Linux networking knowledge.
Additional Requirement
Must be willing and eligible to obtain NV1 security clearance.
