Web site security in the New York Times
The New York Times has a worthwhile read today on password security (and its serious limitations), with a focus on among other things OpenID (which Myles Eftos will be focussing on at Web Directions South)
I think almost all of us would admit to not adhering to best password practice, when it comes to choosing our own passwords – but that’s the single greatest flaw of password based security – people find the effort of managing their login security greater than the perceived cost of something going wrong.
Well worth a read, and a think about, when you next designing log in systems for your projects.
Great reading, every weekend.
