Web Directions Global Scope ’21 session spotlight–Optional Chaining and Null Coalescing, a Golden Duo

Optional Chaining and Null Coalescing, a Golden Duo

Bramus Van Damme, Freelance Frontend Expert

In one of over a dozen presentations at Global Scope, our brand new 100% JavaScript focussed conference, we go deep into two new features of JavaScript.

Part of ES2020 are the Optional Chaining and Nullish Coalescing Operators. By combining these two we can make our code more robust, and also shorten it along the way. This talk takes a look at when and how we can use these two exciting ECMAScript features.

About Bramus Van Damme

Bramus Van Damme is a web developer from Belgium. From the moment he discovered view-source at the age of 14 (way back in 1997), he fell in love with the web and has been tinkering with it ever since.

With his company 3RDS he works as a freelance developer, tackling both the frontend (HTML, CSS, JS) and the backend (PHP, MySQL). His current focus is on JavaScript, React and React Native yet his love for CSS will never fade.

In 2022 we have a whole series of events for Front End Developers

Across 2022 Web Directions is presenting our series of online conferences for front end designers and developers. Focussed deep dives, they go far beyond what you might expect from conference programs.
