Yes, it’s hard to believe, but there are mobile web devices other than the iPhone out there, and other browsers than Safari. A real leader in this area for many years has been Opera, and a new beta of opera 9.5 for Windows Mobile is now out. Tech supersite Ars Technica has a detailed review of the latest version, and those tough critics really like it. So if Windows Mobile is your platform, give this a spin.
Later this year, we’ll see the arrival of the long awaited Firefox mobile browser, and late this year or early next Google’s open Android mobile platform (an open hardware and software specification for mobile devices.)
