Year round learning for product, design and engineering professionals

Introducing Product ’19 our brand new conference

We’re genuinely excited to announce the initial key speakers for our first ever Product conference, as well as an amazing workshop, Design Your Design Organization, from the legendary Peter Merholz, visiting Australia for the first time ever.

All in all we’re shaping up for an amazing 3 days of product goodness in Melbourne, from July 31 to August 2, and we’d love to see you there.

Pre-release tickets are now available, giving you not just the conference and the conference videos, but also a place at our speaker dinner, all for the price of a standard ticket. But the only way to come to the dinner is to register one of these tickets before they go!

Key 2019 Speakers

Peter Merholz
Co-founder Adaptive Path

Peter Merholz is an experience design and product management executive with 20 years experience across a broad range of digital media. In 2016 he co-wrote, with Kristin Skinner, Org Design for Design Orgs, the first book to address building and managing effective in-house design teams.

In 2001, Peter co-founded Adaptive Path, perhaps the world’s premier firm dedicated to user experience. He was instrumental in its growth from a small boutique firm to an international consultancy, with offices in San Francisco, Austin, and Amsterdam.

After Adaptive Path, he lead the global design team at Groupon, including product/UX, marketing, and brand design. He grew the team from 30 to 60, and was instrumental in the first redesign of Groupon.com since the company launched.

In 1999, Peter coined the word “blog.” Really. In the OED and everything.

Krystal Higgins
Senior Interaction Designer, Google Photos

Krystal Higgins is a senior interaction designer who likes connecting people with products and services. An area she’s been working on for years, and is extremely passionate about, is the onboarding and guidance of new and existing users. She shares tips for designing in-product education on her design blog and maintains a collection of onboarding reviews from websites, apps, and other products.

In addition to teaching teams about guiding users, Krystal designs all sorts of experiences for digital products. She has worked at companies like NVIDIA, eBay, and, currently, Google, where she helped launch Android Wear 2.0 and leads a small UX team working on new opportunities for Google Photos.

David Demaree
PM, Material Design, Google

David Demaree is the Product Manager for Material Design at Google.

The author of Git for Humans, prior to joining Google, David held a number of roles at Typekit including Principal Product Manager.
